History Close to Home

As many of you know, our company was founded minutes away from Lexington, Kentucky. With all of the hustle and bustle of the city, you may miss a key piece of history right in the middle of the bluegrass.

As the wife of a United States Veteran, we have went to the VA on multiple occasions and see the pictures of the military members who went above what they were ever asked of. One of those pictures posted is a portrait of Franklin Sousley, who one of the Lexington VA branches is named after.

Franklin was a United States Marine who sadly was killed in action during the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. He is pictures along with five other marines who raised the second United States Flag on top of Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945, as shown in not only our logo but also displayed all over this very website.

Anytime you see our iconic logo or the photos that adore our website, you will see a piece of someone who made the ultimate sacrifice and should be hailed one of the most brave men who have served our country. So next time you pass the VA, think of this story and who it is named after.
